AnchorCloud Jquery Plugin

Web developer Dusky Code has created a jQuery plugin called the AnchorCloud Expanding Link Identifier. It is developed using YQL (Yahoo Query Language) to extract website contents like page title and description. Since it is only in its first release, support for media content is limited to videos from YouTube and Vimeo. The next release promises inclusion of support to more popular video and photo services.

In the meantime, you can check out the working demo here and you can download the AnchorCloud script so you can follow the instructions below and incorporate the plugin into your site immediately.

First thing you need to do is include the following script in your HTML to call the necessary functions in your .js file:

What do you do, when after an exhaustive search for the perfect WordPress theme that you love, all of a sudden you run into an error message saying that your new theme doesn’t support your sidebar widgets?

Try these steps to edit the sidebar widgets to fix it!

1. Backup your theme files and folders.

2. Edit the functions.php file, and paste these lines of code to the top of the file — and Save It.

if ( function_exists(’register_sidebar’) )
register_sidebar();
?>

3. Edit the sidebar.php file, and paste these lines of code right below of the first
tag of the file.

|| !dynamic_sidebar() ) : ?>

4. Still inside the sidebar.php file, paste these line of code right above of the last
tag of the file and save it.

Now try to edit your sidebar widgets, it should be working now.

How to disable the admin bar in wordpress

What is WordPress Admin Bar ?
- This is a toolbar that appear in the top of your blog when your status is in login session.

If you are of the category that find that new admin bar a bit intrusive… you can now disable it!

-          Login into wordpress admin panel

-          Click Users >> Your Profile

In this page, you can find Show Admin Bar, you can simply uncheck when viewing site
Please take a screen shot below :

Don’t forget to click the Update Profile !

Note :
This tutorial will work if you have installed wordpress by yourself in your hosting site.
If you can’t find “Show Admin Bar” in the Profile area, then you are hosting your site in wordpress.com

Now, it is easier than ever to add the Facebook famous “Like”/”Recommend” to your posts and increase your blog popularity. The “Like” button allows users to share their ‘like’ of your WordPress Blog with their friends on Facebook.

Every time a user clicks on the “Like” button on your blog, it creates a status update on the user’s Facebook News Feed with a link back to your WordPress Blog.

Here is how you do it:

1.       Login as administrator to the WordPress admin panel.

2.       Go to Appearance -> Editor.

3.       Place the following code wherever you want the like button to appear:

Filtering and listing resources is one of the most important tasks for administering a web application. Active Admin provides many different tools for you to build a compelling interface into your data for the admin staff.

Built in, Active Admin has the following index renderers:
