How To Disable “Seen” In Facebook Chat
If you chat a lot with your friends at Facebook then you might have already noticed the new update they implemented to their chat system, but in case you haven’t, read on.
The update I’m referring to is called the “Seen” feature. Basically it’s a feature that lets the sender of a chat or private message know that their message has already been read by the recipient. For some reason, not everybody liked this update so they started to look for ways on how to remove his.
Well, there’s good news, and there’s bad news. The good news is, there is way to disable it, but the bad news is, it’s not exactly for everyone. The way to disable it comes in the form of a web browser extension – Google Chrome browser to be exact – and it’s called ‘Facebook Unseen’, so unless you’re using Chrome, you won’t be able to use it.
To use it, just go over to the extension’s download page.
Click on ‘Add to Chrome’ and then the next ‘Add’ button which will appear shortly afterward to confirm download.
The extension will be added automatically.
Once done, just log in to your Facebook page and try it out. Next time you send out a message to a friend who is offline, you shouldn’t see any “Seen” message indicator anymore once they’re able to read it. By the way, the extension can also be turned off any time you wish.
