WinMetro Gives Your Desktop The Windows 8 UI
If you’re waiting to get Windows 8, here’s something from IObit that you might want to try as well. It’s called WinMetro, and it’s an app that provides you with the new operating system’s tile-based Metro user interface.
WinMetro lets you experience the look and feel of Windows 8’s design right on your Windows 7 (32 & 64-bit), Windows Vista or Windows XP desktop. With it, you can now get widgets (a.k.a. live tiles) like that display real-time information such weather, stocks, news, etc.
Other key benefits include easy access to most frequently used tools and programs and faster searches. This app lets you switch between Metro and Desktop interface easily AND it also gives you the option to boot directly to the Metro Start screen.
Last and certainly not least, this app is 100% malware free, but it is still in its beta stage so you might receive numerous error prompts for the MetroBar component. Still, you can download WinMetro for free (size: 5.17MB), so why not give it a try?
