Curtain.js – Add A Sliding Effect To Page Transitions
Curtain.js is jQuery plugin created by Victor Coulon that gives a cool and very unique effect during page transition. It causes the current page to be lifted up just like a curtain that you normally see in theatre stages. Instead of seeing the page load in front of you in a flash, you’ll see it scroll upwards, revealing the next page underneath.
Click on the image or the demo, documentation, and instructions.
Aside from using the mousewheel or scrollbar, you can also use the keyboard to navigate the page. The plugin will allow you to control the scrolling speed and also add a fixed element or multiple “steps” element into a panel. It has been tested for compatibility and has been shown to work on the following:
- iOs 5.0.1 (iPhone + iPad) but the curtain effect is disabled
- Safari 5+
- Firefox 9+
- Chrome 17+
You can also visit Victor’s page over at forrst and dribble.
