Pinterest Introduces Secret Boards

When I was first introduced by a friend to Pinterest, my first impression of it was that it was simply a site where you can save and bookmark any photos or images that you happen to like on the web; it never really came off to me as a place for sharing images (and even as a social site) so I really didn’t mind having my stuff there being viewed by pretty much anyone – not until Pinterest recently introduced the ‘secret board’ option to its user settings.

The ‘secret board’ option is practically similar to setting your photo album to ‘Private’ or ‘Friends only’ on Facebook. To create a secret board, just head over to your profile page and scroll to the bottom. As of this writing, the feature is still undergoing testing so it will only let you create up to three ‘secret boards’. Moreover, you also can’t make existing boards secret – yet – because other people may have already repinned from your board.
