Since web designers could do with a dose of art inspiration every now and then, I’d like to introduce you all to Cristian Girotto’s works called L’ Enfant Extérieur (The Child Outside), and just by its title alone you can already have an idea and tell that it has something to do with kids or youth… well, not exactly.

In this particular series, Girotto retouches and manipulates portraits of grown adults and make them look like young children. When I first saw this, the very first thing that came to mind was Margaret Keane’s “Big Eye” paintings.

Anyway, if you’d like to see more samples of this amazing work, you can find them his Girotto’s official website. People loved the concept so much that when it got featured on Tutsplus, many folks kept asking for a Photoshop tutorial on how to recreate it.
