If you love gaming, there is a wide variety of PC games from Tesco and other online game stores for every kind of player to choose from, but somehow plenty of games still fall flat. 1. Include a clear and concise tutorial. While it’s fun to discover what a game is about as one plays on, it’s not as enjoyable if the player has to figure out which key does what during gameplay.

2. Provide interesting and meaningful options. Don’t just offer different endings, but different gameplay and strategy options that offers players chances to feed their curiosity and explore the game from several points of view.

3. Make sure ALL the commands work. That includes the ‘Exit’ command.

4. Make sure the game elements interact properly with the main character. Each element — other characters included — need to be organically responsive to the main character. It’s difficult to play if you click to move an object and that object only moves a second later.

5. Don’t overload it with too many popups and cutscenes. And if you have to, make sure the popups can be disabled and the cutscenes can be skipped over.

6. Maintain a challenging but attainable level of difficulty. Too easy and your game becomes boring. Too difficult, and it will frustrate the player. The point of a game is to provide catharsis for a player, so make sure it’s challenging enough to stay interesting, but easy enough to stay fun.

7. Provide immediate feedback to the player. Players want to see their progress during play, so make sure that each move they make will give them an instant response for them to see how they’re doing.

8. Set clear and rewarding goals. It’s not enough to take the player to the game’s finish line anymore. You have to amp up the satisfaction level by setting a number of smaller but fun and rewarding goals throughout the game, which ultimately help bring the player closer to the grand prize. A good example of this is Mario’s level ups, stars, mushrooms, secret rooms, and other extra perks.
