Creating Shiny Retro Text

Here’s a nice text effect that’s great to use in your design, poster, ads, etc. This shiny retro text will definitely give a new look and add funkiness to it.

Edmar Cisneros shows you how you can create this amazing typographic illustration that has colorful type treatment. Using Photoshop’s tools and effects, you can achieve this and perhaps use what you’ve learn here to create a design of your own and incorporate it in your projects.

You’ll need the following to capture the same thing as Cisneros’ creation.

Tetra Font

Bokeh Textrures

Note: You may use other fonts of your preference.

Using the Tetra Font, type in the words on the canvas you’ve created. Size is about 250 pt. but you may make it larger if you want. To make this editable, you will have to select Rasterize layer by right clicking on the layer text. Other tools you’ll need are brush tool, colors palette, image adjustments such as brightness and contrast and layer styles.
